Faces of disc golf - Andrei Huhtala
Who are you?
I’m Andrei Huhtala, 51yrs,
sales professional, old school graffiti writer,
slang-author, chef, disc golfer and a father from Helsinki Finland.
I’m always been really interested in sneakers
and I've represented Converse and Skechers brands.
I currently work as a floor manager at Adidas.
As a young kid I saw mind-blowing movie Beat Street 1984,
me and my friends started passionately listen to rap music,
painting graffiti’s and break dancing.
Hip Hop was a new thing at the time and we were really breathing it.
I use to hang in the 80’s at Skatta, Pulu and Pasila gallery
and later in Citykäytävä.
Trough my father I became familiar with Helsinki slang
and I was really eager about it.
I was so excited with slang that I wrote book of it,
Punis aka Little Red Riding Hood 2015. ( Sold out )
I have been a member of Helsinki slang association for 20 years.
In the 90’s I was working as a chef in different restaurants in Helsinki!
One of the legendary ones was Cantina West!
We called it Tico-Taco-Tivoli 😂

Forehand or Backhand?
Mostly backhand, because I can throw further
and more precisely. Maybe 80% backhand and 20% forehand.
-
Favourite disc golf course?
There’s so many but I like Herusten disc golf course a lot,
because of variety of different fairways.
Meikku, Puolarmaari, Sahanmäki as well..
