Faces of disc golf - Mikko Hakulinen
Who are you?
Mikko Hakulinen, media all-rounder, father and artist of life.
Today I work with the lights in the theater,
but in disc golf I am best known as a commentator.
-
What's disc golf to you?
It is a way of life and the best form of therapy.
Quiet nature, friends and watching discs fly,
I can't think of much better.
Disc golf can also teach you a lot about yourself.
Mind and body control at its best.
-
Forehand or Backhand?
It depends. When I started the sport in the early 2000s,
I would have responded with a forehand,
because it was a style that felt more natural.
However, the backhand quickly became stronger.
Nowadays forehand is less common, but I wouldn't belittle it at all.
I answer, politically, both are better.
-
Favorite disc golf course?
This is difficult because I try to find the beauty of each course.
But there is something about park courses.
For example, my home course Kirjurinluoto was still number one 10 years ago.
Järva, Skellefteå, Sieravuori are also at the top of my list.
-
Favorite item in your bag?
Yes, at the moment it seems to be my putter Steady Popcorn by Clash Discs.
I've always loved putting putters and right now popcorn delivers.
Although the putter no longer flies 100m,
watching its flight always warms the heart.

Shoutouts?
To the whole Disc golf family!
The sport has brought many friends to my life
with whom I have been able to experience many great moments.
Hats off to the guys at FPC that I've also been able to take part in
ripping the most stylish clothes of the sport!
And of course the followers of MHDG,
without you my own career in the sport
would not have grown as big as it is now.
